Android

The situation on Android is a bit weird. The official Jellyfin app does not support H.265 out of the box. With some simple configuration you can get it work.

1. Install the official Jellyfin app
2. Complete the initial setup
3. Configure the player for VLC
   1. Install the VLC video player
   2. In the Jellyfin App, navigate to Menu > Settings > Client Settings > Video player type
   3. Select External Player. The first time you open a video, you will be prompted to select VLC
